Construction & trades software

Construction software that connects the office, field and project record

Construction businesses often run on several strong specialist tools plus a collection of spreadsheets and manual handoffs between estimating, sales, scheduling, field teams, purchasing and finance.

AI Creative custom construction software for the workflows that do not fit those tools cleanly. We can build a focused module, extend an existing platform or create a larger operating system where the business case supports it.

Estimate & bid. Pricing assemblies, labour and material logic, alternates and internal approval before the proposal is issued.

Estimating & bidding

Estimating and bidding can be a system of its own

Contractors may need pricing assemblies, labour and material logic, templates, alternates, internal approvals and proposals that reflect how the company actually sells work.

A custom estimating system can connect those records directly to project setup when the bid is won instead of recreating the job in another tool.

Toggle the alternates in the example: the bid total, the proposal and the eventual project scope all come from the same record.

Scheduling

Scheduling needs to reflect construction constraints

Crews, phases, sites, equipment, dependencies and material availability can make generic calendars inadequate.

A construction scheduling view can show project timelines, conflicts, delayed work and resource commitments while linking back to the underlying job record.

Electrical rough-in is flagged because it depends on the slab pour finishing Wednesday. The schedule links back to the job record, so moving the pour moves the dependency and notifies the subcontractor.

Field operations

The field is where the record is either created or lost

Daily logs, photos, quantities, issues and completion are captured against the job and phase, on the device the crew already carries.

Offline behaviour, glove-friendly controls and a short path to the three things a crew actually records matter more than feature count. If a form takes ten minutes on site, it gets completed at the end of the week from memory.

System landscape

Decide each system on its own merits

Accounting, payroll, payments and document storage are mature categories. Estimating, project management, scheduling and field service also have strong products, use them where they fit.

Custom is more attractive when the process creates a competitive advantage, several systems need to be coordinated, or staff spend significant time working around product assumptions that do not match the business. The decision is made per domain: replace, extend, integrate or build.

Explicit record ownership

Where a platform is retained, the custom layer coordinates the construction-specific workflow and connects it with an explicit statement of which system owns which record. That is what prevents two versions of the same job.

Where the value is

Design for the handoffs that lose information today

The most valuable custom opportunity is often the boundary between teams. Each handoff can require the next team to re-enter information or ask questions that were already answered earlier.

  1. 1

    Estimate to project

Approved scope, pricing and documents become the job record instead of a re-entered summary.

  2. 2

    Project to schedule

Phases, crews, subcontractors and equipment commitments come from the awarded work.

  3. 3

    Office to field

The crew opens the current scope, drawings and checklist on a phone, not a printed packet.

  4. 4

    Field to billing

Quantities, photos and completion evidence release progress billing without a chase.

  5. 5

    Inspection to corrective work

A failed item creates the corrective task, owner and due date automatically.

A connected system carries the approved scope, customer, job, schedule, documents and status forward while giving each role the interface it needs.

Operating value

What changes

  • One job record

Estimate, project, schedule, field work and billing reference the same job rather than four copies of it.

  • Fewer re-entry hours

Information is captured once, at the point it is known, by the person who knows it.

  • Field data you can bill from

Quantities and completion evidence arrive attached to the phase, not in a text message.
